Course Information

Introduction

This 20-day course combines practical close protection skills with Level 3 First Aid training. It prepares operatives to protect clients and to manage medical emergencies at the point of incident. The programme stresses realistic scenarios, legal responsibilities, and clear decision-making under pressure. Employers and clients increasingly expect security staff to handle both threat mitigation and casualty care.

Objectives

1. Plan, brief and execute protective operations for static and mobile assignments, including route selection and contingency planning.
2. Conduct dynamic threat assessments and implement proportionate mitigation measures.
3. Demonstrate and be assessed to First Aid Level 3 standards, including airway management, control of major haemorrhage, shock management, basic life support with AED, and safe casualty evacuation.
4. Apply conflict management and defensive tactics appropriate to close protection roles while observing legal and ethical limits.
5. Prepare clear incident reports, coordinate with emergency services, and effect professional handover of casualties and clients.
